Many congratulations to Julia Wolfe, winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize in Music for “Anthracite Fields,” written for the amazing Bang on a Can All-Stars and our friends at the Mendelssohn Club under Alan Harler. PRISM is stoked to premiere Julia’s first work for sax quartet, “CHA” on May 22 (Curtis Institute) and May 23 (Symphony Space), commissioned with generous support from Chamber Music America. The program also includes world premieres by Grammy Award-winner Michael Daugherty; the Curtis Institute’s David Hertzberg; Princeton University’s Emma O’Halloran, Viet Cuong and Jonathan Russell; counter)induction’s Kyle Bartlett; Solon Snider and Mark Macaluso, winners of the PRISM/Walden School Commissioning Award; and PRISM’s own Matthew Levy.
