Grammy Awards for Tim McAllister and Partch

Congratulations to PRISM’s Tim McAllister, soloist on John Adams’ “City Noir” (Nonesuch) with Maestro David Robertson and the St. Louis Symphony, winner of the 2015 Grammy Award for best orchestral performance. Read more in The St. Louis Dispatch.

The Los Angeles-based percussion ensemble Partch also took home a Grammy for its album “Plectra & Percussion Dances” in the classical compendium category. Read about it in The Los Angeles Times. PRISM has engaged Partch to make their Philadelphia and New York debuts next season on PRISM’s 2016 Concert Series at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and Roulette. This collaboration (part of PRISM’s Color Theory project) features new works for saxophones and Harry Partch instruments by Ken Ueno and Stratis Minakakis and has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
